Early Life
Ray Buffer was born in Greenacres, Florida on September 2nd, 1969. He was adopted by Delana Hawks, a homemaker and housekeeper, and Raymond Ernest Buffer Sr., a landscape designer when he was 29 days old.
After a long search, he discovered his birth mother, Patricia (Levak) Odell, in 2003. His family has grown to include his maternal relatives as a result of his reunion with his birth mother. Buffer recognized his passion for music at a young age.
He started learning the violin and later other instruments. When he reached high school, he became obsessed with theatre. Buffer went to John I. Leonard High School in Lake Worth, Florida, where he participated in theatre productions and jazz choirs.
He played various instruments such as the viola, piano, and string bass. He began attending Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University in 1988, where he earned his BFA in musical theatre.
Career
Buffer produced and directed theatre throughout the 1990s, as well as starred in regional and dinner theatre plays. Buffer relocated from Orlando, Florida, where he had been working as an actor in numerous theatres and touring parks across the country in 1999.
