Early Life

Charlie Alexander Villanueva Mejia was born on 24 August 1984 in New York City to immigrants Roberto Villanueva and Doris Mejia. He was raised in Elmhurst, Queens. Villanueva has four siblings, Rob Antonio, Rob Elia, Rob Carlos, and Genesis.

Amateur Career

Villanueva played basketball as a freshman at Newtown High School in Queens, New York. He played basketball during his final three years at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey.
