Dan Jewett was born on March 6, 1975, in Seattle, Washington, and graduated with a degree in chemistry. He began his first job as a teacher at Hansa Studios in London. He worked as an AP chemistry teacher at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, from 2006 to 2007.

Career

Jewett married Mackenzie Scott, a philanthropist and novelist, secretly in March 2021, two years after Mackenzie divorced her then-husband Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon. Scott was previously married to Jeff Bezos from 1993 until 2013, and they have four children together.
