Morris started his career in construction with LVI Services Firm Inc., a Tetra Tech affiliate company, where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President/General Manager.

Don formed Morris Group International, a manufacturer of goods for the non-residential building industries, after graduating from USC in 1969. Soon after, Don flew abroad and secured a high-ranking post at the Acorn Engineering Company.

Don was appointed President of Acorn Engineering Company in 1985 and CEO in 2003. As Acorn expanded to include numerous subsidiaries and product lines, he established Morris Group International as the parent business.

He has continued a tradition of wealth, power, and expansion over the years, expanding from 14 divisions to 28 and bringing the total number of employees to 2000. He also worked in business as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Tetra Tech Inc. He has also worked at TRW, which is now owned by Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding.

Over the course of his 34-year career, he worked closely with Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding as program manager for installation environmental analysis and cleanup services at several Department of Defense installations.

He was also a member of the California Polytechnic State University Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He was named The Wholesaler magazine’s Person of the Year in 2017.
