Early Life
Jade Cargill was born on June 3rd, 1992 in Gifford, Florida to American-Jamaican parents.
Cargill attended Sebastian River High School and then Vero Beach High School, where she was a member of both basketball teams.
She was named MVP as a senior at Vero Beach High School after helping both high school teams win district championships. Cargill did not stop there, as she continued to play basketball while attending Jacksonville University.
As a first-year student, she was named Team MVP and “Freshman of the Year.” This early success gave her the confidence to play basketball throughout her college career. Cargill was named to the Atlantic Sun Preseason First Team in her senior year.
With all of her basketball success in high school and college, it was fitting that Jade Cargill made her debut years later alongside NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal. She later transferred to and graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in sports management.
Career Beginnings
Cargill began her education at Jacksonville University with an undergraduate degree in social science and then continued her education. Jade went on to earn her Master’s degree in child psychology not long after.
Cargill began working as a psychologist with children in Florida schools shortly after graduation. Cargill was aware of the emotional strain that working in the field of child psychology can impose. Jade was in discussions with Mark Henry about getting into the wrestling business.
Cargill began pursuing professional wrestling with the assistance of Mark Henry and former WWE wrestler Heath Slater after realizing that child psychology was not the path she had envisioned for herself.
Finding a starting point in professional wrestling can be difficult, but Mark Henry suggested that Jade visit the Face 2 Face Wrestling School, which is owned by Richard Borger and Slater. Since 2019, wrestlers have had to decide whether their skills would be better utilized in AEW or WWE.
Cargill did not spend much time at the Face 2 Face wrestling school before moving on to the Nightmare Factory, where she would train specifically for AEW. It wasn’t until 2020 that Cargill decided to pursue a career in professional wrestling.
Despite a brief training session at Face 2 Face, she credits Heath and Henry, as well as her Nightmare Factory training sessions, with getting her fully prepared to join the AEW roster. She quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with, using her impressive strength.
