Jarrett Allen was born to Leonardo Allen, his father, and Cheryl Allen, his mother, on April 21, 1998, in San Diego, California. His father, Leonardo Allen was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1985 draft.

Brooklyn Nets (2017 to 2021)
The Brooklyn Nets chose Jarrett with the 22nd overall pick in the 2017 draft and signed him to a rookie deal. He made his NBA debut when he was just 19 years old, becoming the Nets’ second-youngest player behind Derrick Favors.
