Tony Townley’s son was killed in a double shooting in Athens on Saturday evening. Athens-Clarke County Police responded to the shooting at 8:44 p.m. at the 200-block of Morton Avenue in the Five Points neighborhood.
By the time police officers arrived, they found that John Wes Townley, 31, and a 30-year-old woman had been shot. According to officials, both were taken to the hospital and Townley died there. Police have not yet confirmed the woman.
