Kandi Lenice Burruss Tucker was born in College Park, Georgia on 17th May 1976 and she was raised by her single mother, Joyce Jones as well she had an older brother, Titus Burruss Jr. who died in a vehicle accident when she was 22.

Burruss appeared as Roselyn Perry in the third season of Showtime’s drama series The Chi. She has also appeared in the television sitcom Are We There Yet (2011), VH1’s Single Ladies, Thicker Than Water: The Tankards, Chef Roblé & Co., and Let’s Stay Together, among others.
