Early Life
Michael Aaron Fishman was born on 22nd October 1981, in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, to jeweller Nelson Fishman and nurse and community college professor Darlene Fishman.
He grew up with Robyn Fishman, his older sister, and Matthew Fishman, both of whom were child actors. Growing up, Fishman was very fascinated by the entertainment industry. Fishman began acting when he was a child.
Growing up in Los Angeles, he aspired to be a professional actor and pursued his education properly. He attended Los Alamitos High School before enrolling in the Orange County School of the Arts Musical Theater and Technical Theater departments.
Acting Career
Fishman did not intend to pursue a career in the entertainment industry at first. His older sister Robyn was attempting to get into the acting industry by applying for commercial parts. Fishman’s curiosity drove him to attend his sister’s auditions.
Eventually, at one of his early auditions, he met comedian and writer Roseanne Barr. He had no acting experience and was chosen because of a joke he told Roseanne. At the age of 6, Fishman went through months of auditions before landing the role of D.J. Conner in The Roseanne in 1988.
The series was an instant success, and it has since appeared on many lists of the greatest TV shows of all time. It lasted a total of ten seasons and 231 episodes, with Fishman appearing in 220 of them.
