Early Life
Sammie Leigh Bush Jr. was born on March 1, 1987, in Boynton Beach, Florida. As for his education, At the age of 17, he received his high school degree from Florida’s Winter Garden in 2005.
Career
Sammie struck a deal with Capitol Records in 1999. His debut album, From the Bottom to the Top, was released in 2000 and received a gold certification from the RIAA. It debuted at #46 on the US Billboard 200.
I Like It, the album’s first single, peaked at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was awarded a gold certification by the RIAA. Crazy Things I Do, the album’s second single, peaked at #39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Through his deal with Dallas Austin’s Rowdy Records, Sammie, his second album was released which entered the Billboard 200 list at #42. On the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, the first song, You Should Be My Girl, peaked at #26.
While the second single, Come with Me, peaked at #23. Sammie appeared on Soulja Boy’s hit track Kiss Me Thru the Phone in 2008, which reached a high spot on the Billboard Hot 100 at #3.
He released a single that same year called One Way Street. He co-wrote the song Next Breath for Tank’s fifth studio album, This Is How I Feel, which was released in 2012.
Insomnia, a mixtape by Sammie, and The Leigh Bush Project EP were both published in 2013. Through his own label StarCamp Music, Sammie released his retail mixtape, Indigo, in 2016. In 2017, he released his third album, Coming of Age.
2019 saw Sammie start The Everlasting Tour, which featured performances in small venues. Sammie subsequently released an EP in 2019 titled Send Nudes. The 2020 Millennium Tour will also feature him.
