Scottie Maurice Pippen was born on September 25, 1965, in Hamburg, Arkansas. His parents are Ethel and Preston Pippen. He is the youngest amongst the 12 children of his parents. Scottie’s father worked in a paper mill until a stroke got him paralyzed on his right side. Scottie had led his high school basketball team to qualify for the state playoffs. He still wasn’t offered any scholarships in college. He started playing for the University of Central Arkansas. He grew 6’8 feet tall and was selected for the first draft of the 1987 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics.

Scottie Pippen made in NBA debut on November 7 1987 when Chicago Bulls faced the Philadelphia 76ers as their first game in that season. He finished the game with 10 points, 2 steals, 4 assists and 1 rebound all within 23 minutes of play. The Chicago Bulls won the season-opening game. He then claimed the starting small forward position during the 1988 NBA playoffs and helped the Bulls reach the semi-finals for the first time in a decade.
