Early Life

Raqhid Jevon Render was born on March 16, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia. Render was the fifth child out of his 6 other siblings. Raised in Forest Park, Render later moved to Atlanta, Cleveland Ave.

Render took rapping seriously after the death of his close friend, Rudy. Render has one sister and six brothers and has a younger brother who is also a rapper, Lil Gotit. His parents however separated earlier in his life, but they were both present.

Render completed his schooling at a Private High School and graduated from a private college. He briefly worked at Subway and McDonald’s before taking up professional rapping. Render began making music and had some regional hits.

Career

In 2018, Render released his single, ‘Slatt Rock,’ which featured Paper Lovee along with his upcoming mixtape ‘Trapped on Cleveland 2.’ Render and his brother, Lil Gottit, were featured on Lil Uzi Vert’s single, ‘Heavy Metal.’

The same year, Render released another mixtape, ‘Keed Talk to ‘Em’, that featured the top-charting single, ‘Nameless,’ as well as other singles, ‘Balenciaga’ that featured 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Lil Yachty, Trippie Red, among others.

In 2019, Render released his debut studio album, ‘Long Live Mexico.’ Render was inspired by a friend named Mexico who had died earlier the same year. That year Render collaborated with artists such as Offset from Migos.

He has also been featured in Lil Uzi Vert, Roddy Rich, YNW Melly, and Young Thug on the album. The album peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200 and No.11 on the Hot Rap Albums Chart, which was the highest-charting rap of his career.

Render also featured on Future’s single, ‘Undefeated.’ He also featured on Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s ‘Drip Babies,’ a single that was alongside his brother, Lil Gottit. He went on to collaborate with Lil Duke, Young Scooter, Lil Yachty, 88GLAM, and Zaytoven.

The album features artists such as Future, Gunna, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug, and Travis Scott. He then released a deluxe version featuring more artists such as Lil Gottit, Lil Duke, O.T. Genasis, Yak Gotti, and Chris Brown.

Render’s musical style is largely influenced by Young Thug, since both the rappers grew up on Cleveland Avenue. The Chicago Reader described both the artists’ similar rapping skills while being distinct in some ways.

Personal Life

Lil Keed passed away on May 13, 2022, at the age of 24. The cause of death however remains unsure, it is unfortunate for the young artist. His fellow artists have expressed their condolences to the artist and his family on this tragic event.
