Early Career
Anthony was born on September 16, 1968, in New York, to Puerto Rican parents. Anthony’s parents named him after Marco Antonio Muñiz, a Mexican singer. Anthony grew up in Spanish Harlem or East Harlem also known as El Barrio.
He was raised Roman Catholic. He is the youngest of 7 siblings. Anthony began learning music at home and was taught by his father, Felipe Muñiz, who was a musician and a professional guitarist.
