Silvio Scaglia was born on October 14th, 1958 in Lucerne, Switzerland. Scaglia earned a degree in Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, in 1983.
Scaglia began working for Aeritalia Spazio, where he worked on a NASA satellite project. Following that, he worked for three years as a programmer and project manager before joining McKinsey & Company as a consultant and then manager.
