Early Life
Jodie Lee Ann Sweetin was born in Los Angeles, California on 19 January 1982. Her uncle Sam Sweetin adopted and raised her. Her parents were both at the time in jail.
Sweetin was adopted when she was nine months old, but because her birth father was one-fourth Native American, her adoption wasn’t formalized until she was two years old.
Sweetin learned to dance when she was young. From the time she was 3 years old, she studied ballet and tap dancing. She studied at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California, and then went on to Chapman University in Orange, California.

Sweetin was given a guest role in Valerie after appearing in a number of national commercials. Her most well-known role to date was Stephanie Tanner, which Jeff Franklin cast her for the ABC comedy series “Full House” from 1985 to 1995.
