Norm Macdonald was born in Canada in 1959. Grown-up with 2 brothers, both of whom were teachers. Norm attended high schools in Quebec and Ottawa. His brother Neil later became a journalist with CBC News.

Norm Macdonald’s father served with the Canadian Forces in the 2nd World War and helped liberate the Netherlands.
