Early Life

On May 14, 1967, Anthony Siragusa Sr. was born in Kenilworth, New Jersey. Siragusa went to David Brearley High School in Kenilworth, New Jersey, where he participated in wrestling and football.

Tony Siragusa was the New Jersey state champion wrestler and had a 97-1 career record. Tony Siragusa punted on average 39 yards and played defensive line in football.

College Career

He studied at the University of Pittsburgh, where from 1986 to 1989 he played football. Siragusa passed up the opportunity to sign with an NFL team after being selected in the 3rd round of the 1990 NFL draft.

Prior to suffering the injury that ended his career, Siragusa, a college football player for the Pittsburgh Panthers, was projected to be selected in the first round of the draft.

Professional Career

As an undrafted free agent in 1990, Siragusa was signed by the Indianapolis Colts. He participated in 13 games as a rookie, started six of them, and had 36 tackles overall, one sack, and one fumble recovery.

Up until the 1996 season, he continued with the team. He decided to sign with the Baltimore Ravens at the beginning of the 1997 campaign. He contributed to the team’s record-breaking season.

They conceded the fewest points in the regular-season play of any team. After defeating the New York Giants 34-7, the Ravens claimed victory in Super Bowl XXXV. Siragusa retired in 2011 from the NFL.
