Early Life
Dell Curry was born on 25 July 1964 in Virginia, USA. He went on to complete his education at Fort Defiance High School. There are no details about his parents available however, he has four siblings.
He was always said to be excellent at sports right from his school days. He preferred sports over education. In 1982, Curry was declared the McDonald’s All-American. He graduated from the University of Virginia Tech.
Career
Although he represented his state at various national-level games, Dell Curry was first signed in for the 1986 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. The next season he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and then went on to play for the Charlotte Hornets.
While playing for the hornets he had a major role in many of their victories as a team. He then went on to play for the Milwaukee Bucks for one season. His last three years as a player was spent playing for the Toronto Raptors team.
Post his career as a player he went on to be the assistant coach of the Charlotte Hornets and in the year 2009, he started working as a commentator for the Charlotte Hornets. He was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. In the year 2016, he was given the Bobby Jones Award.
