Early Life

Born as Temetrius Jamel Morant on August 10, 1999, in Dalzell, to parents of strong sports influence. His father was also a basketball player and played for Claflin University and was a teammate of Ray Allen.

His mother played semi-professional softball and point guard during high school. Having good sports genes, Morant played for Crestwood High School and was drafted by Murray State where he had two amazing playoffs.

In his final year at Crestwood, Morant earned a 3A All-State Honors as the most valuable player during his high school period and was also named the All-Region Most Valuable Player. His rise in basketball began when he was rated as the best player at Murray State at mid-major and helped Racers, the team he played for, qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
