Rajon Pierre Rondo was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 22, 1986, and has three siblings. He has little to no contact with his biological father who left him when he was seven years old.
His mother raised all four children by herself. Rondo showed interest in football initially, but his mother pushed him to play basketball as it would help him forego his skinny body.
Rondo got serious about pursuing basketball and attended Louisville’s Eastern High School. His 3 years over there fetched him a spot in All-State honors and was the 7th Region Player of the year. Rondo then transferred to Virginia Oak Hill Academy for his senior year and broke a record of 303 assists simultaneously averaging a double-double.
