Bob Dole was born on 22 July 1923 in Kansas, USA. His father owned a small creamery shop to feed the family. Dole completed his schooling at Russell High School and went on to join the University of Kansas. He had to leave university mid-way when the second world war broke out.
His name was enlisted, in the US Army. After having served in WWII, he was seriously wounded and took time to heal back completely. He enrolled at the University of Arizona and then got transferred to Washburn University. He completedwith a degree in law.
