Early Life

Brian Patrick Stelter was born on 3 September 1985 in Damascus, Maryland to Donna and Mark Stelter. He was raised in a Methodist environment but is now an atheist. Stelter spent the majority of his childhood years in Damascus and graduated from Damascus High School in 2003.

College Life

Stelter went on to attend Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was the editor-in-chief of The Towerlight from 2005 to 2007. He founded TV Newser, a blog dedicated to television news coverage in 2004, while a freshman at Towson University.
